Cache Symphony Orchestra

and

Mount Logan Symphony

We are pleased to announce the creation of an intermediate-level symphony, the Mount Logan Symphony. Like the Cache Symphony Orchestra, the Mount Logan Symphony will bring community members and USU students together to make beautiful music. Utah State University students may receive credit for participating in either orchestra by enrolling in MUSC 3530. Musicians are welcome to participate in either or both orchestras.

The Mount Logan Symphony will focus on intermediate to early advanced repertoire in a variety of genres, will hold weekly 90-minute rehearsals on evenings other than Wednesdays, and will likely perform twice each semester. Application and audition information can be found here. Musicians who have participated in the Cache Symphony Orchestra at least once in the last three years may apply for membership in the Mount Logan Symphony without submitting an audition video. For more information about the Mount Logan Symphony, please contact Elizabeth Simmons at [email protected].

The Cache Symphony Orchestra will continue to focus primarily on symphonic masterworks, performing once per semester and holding 6-8 two-hour Wednesday rehearsals in preparation for each concert. Musicians desiring to participate in the Cache Symphony Orchestra in Fall 2024 and beyond are required to audition whether or not they have played with the organization in the past. Audition information can be found here. On November 8, the Cache Symphony Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 under the direction of Barbara Scowcroft, guest conductor. For more information about the Cache Symphony Orchestra, please contact Jayme McKenna at [email protected].
